Celebrations - II

People celebrate different festivals but all of them share some common themes. Families come together, homes get decorated, big meals are planned, rituals performed, gifts exchanged and traditions continued. Whether steeped in ancient mythology or incorporated into uniquely local traditions, colors and festivities go hand in hand.. As children cleaning up the house and decorating the front yards with lamps and garlands and rangolis with family are some of my fondest memories.
